If you came to visit El Bolson, you can’t leave without
visiting: Piltriquitron Mountain, “Cajón del Azul”, “Hielo Azul”, Lindo
Mountain and Plataforma Mountain.
Piltriquitron Mountain:
It’s
a short walk to the shelter of 3 or 4 hours that can be done by almost
everybody. There are very informative sings along the way. In the shelter you
can have something to eat or stay the night.
“Cajón del Azul”:
A
long but pleasant walk of 5 hours through a deep forest of “Cipreses”. It has a
shelter were you can stay the night warm and dry. It is recommended to stay at
least one night since is along walk.
“Hielo Azul”:
Things
get harder in this mountain. Is much more difficult than “Cajon del Azul”
because it’s steeper. You reach a shelter with bathroom and a place where to
sleep.
Lindo Mountain:
A
very steep path and a walk of at least 6 hours. Not recommended for beginners. It has a shelter but without
the same facilities, it doesn´t have electric light and bathroom neither.
Plataforma Mountain:
A
walk for experts of 12 hours because there’s no shelter so you have to sleep in
tent, and since there’s no shelter, you have to carry your own food. On top of
that, the paths are very steep and the weather is freezing.
