Puelo Lake is a fantastic place to enjoy.

“Lago Puelo” is a National Park.

Puelo Lake is 200m above sea level
and is 185m at its deepest point.

From Bariloche towards the south along RN 40 is the town of “Lago Puelo”. It is 139km away from Bariloche.
Puelo Lake National Park is just 4km away from “Lago Puelo” town. This valley is connected to Chile.

What you can do in Lago Puelo Park?

You can sail on board of “Juana de Arco”. It is a very old recycled barge than looks like the boat in the film “Death in the Nile”.

The park also offers trekking tours along paths, guided horseback riding, kayaking, canoeing, swinsurfing, rock climbing with highly qualified guides, fishing, and mountain climbing. You can also visit a fantastic view point of the lake after a short climb.

View Point of Puelo Lake.
How to get there.
You have to go along the coast to the east, go past the “Bosque de las Sombras”, and walk along the road until to the entrance to the View point (there is a sign) and follow the path uphill.
In the View point you can enjoy the beauty of the place and different trees, for example: Ciprés, Coíhue, Arrayán and Lengas higher up. Lengas turn orange/red in autumn.

If you want a break…
Go to traditional “El Muelle” coffee shop, that it’s quite close to the new pier.
There you can have coffee, delicious cookies, “alfajores” (it is like a sandwich of biscuits with caramel filling) and homemade, jams, sandwiches and croissants.

In summer:

You can go swimming with your family and have lunch in the beach or enjoy the quiet and relax with your friends.

If you want to stay one or more days in Puelo Lake there is in a Camping site in the National Park with everything you need.
