JAUJA, the best ice cream you can ever taste

One of the most visited places in El Bolsón nowadays is the ice cream shop "Jauja" where the most delicious homemade ice creams are made.

In the year 1980, it started as a small snack bar called "La Cocinita" but then the founders, the Mazzini family, realized that Patagonia offers plenty of deligths that were not being but in gastronomy, so they decided to use local products shch as strawberries, raspberries, boysenberries, blueberries and wild berries, the berries most liked by argentinians, as well as flower petals and organic cow's and sheep's milk to produce ice creams.

In the elaboration process, there are no artificial ingredients, this guarantees the quality and freshness of the products.

Beside the typical flavours, Jauja offers a unique variety of ice cream flavorus such as:

  • "Maqui and calafate" with sheep milk
  • "Matecocido" (a milk shake with green tea) with 3 of sugar.
  • "Naranjibre" (orange with jinger)
  • "Rosa mosqueta" (rose hip/ wild rose) typical plant of Patagonia.
  • Praline" (cream with almonds and chestnuts)
Some time ago, there used to be an ice cream made from beer but now it is not on sale anymore.

And much more flavours that jauja's workers will proudly offer you to taste.

People from different parts of the world come to El Bolsón only to taste this originals flavours that are only made in Patagonia, because it is considered one of the best ice cream shop in Argentina.
